when jon comes to look for him, he'll find damian walking not too far from the manor with titus beside him, leash dragging on the road because he follows well enough without it being held. he isn't wearing his robin gear, but rather a hoodie, jeans, and a pair of sneakers. there's a backpack on his back, which has his robin gear just in case, but - that's for emergency situations only. )
( he changes himself out of his pjs and into his superboy uniform before he makes his way out — makes sure to let his dad know that damian will be coming over — and doesn't take all that long to find the other boy what with knowing what his heartbeat sounds like.
so he's coming in a little quick — notes how titus' leash isn't held by damian — and when he's sure he's got it, he propels himself forward a little faster, right into the other boy. it's quick and it's fluid and he has damian within his arms and in the sky in a matter of seconds, leaving titus there behind on the ground. he cradles his friend's head there — keeps him close and an ear covered as he quickly turns them around and makes his way back to the apartments. he's not going as fast as he can — not as fast as his dad is capable of, but he's not exactly gently soaring through the air either.
the trip back to the apartments is over in a matter of a seconds — under twenty, he thinks — and he's gently setting damian down on the balcony there, red sneakers tapping down beside him as he looks him over curiously. )
( he's expecting jon, which helps a little with damian's timing. there's a shift in the wind, something coming straight for him and he knows it's jon, so he - goes limp, just as he had dozens of times before when he's fallen or been picked up by someone with inhuman strength to get thrown around. it's not instinct, but a well-ingrained habit - and it works out well for him here, too, because jon holds on tight, but even if he had accidentally jerked damian around a little during their very brief flight, damian's loose, the damage would be minimal.

but he takes off after the instruction of care is made in regards to titus and geez of course he's going to be careful?? as if he wouldn't be with any person or any creature. titus is bigger than his friend, but it's nothing he can't handle and he'll just... go a little slower with the dog than he had with damian. seems like a good idea, especially remembering their journey with the kittens.
so he zips his way back to where he'd found damian — grabs titus in a way that ensures his safety in all manners, and heads back to the apartments with a smile down to the dog. )

( he wouldn't have left the dog behind if he didn't trust jon to take care of titus. it's why he can turn his back so easily on the balcony, why he can walk into the apartment and veer right off into jon's room to drop his bag and make himself comfortable without looking back. jon wouldn't hurt a dog, and he knows how to manipulate his shorter stature to be more careful with things larger than him.
jon's room is - it isn't the first time damian's seen it, even if he doesn't frequent it. he watches over everyone quietly, keeps an eye on their comings and goings, monitors their well being even when they aren't paying attention. but the room feels much like he would expect from someone jon's age, in a way his own room certainly doesn't.
from his backpack, he pulls out a gaming console and a music player, settling with his back against the wall close to the bed frame but not anywhere close to getting on it. he's comfortable here, up until titus makes his way into the room, too, and damian smiles soft as his hands reach up for the massive beast of a dog and scritches just behind his ears. and when jon reappears, his head tips up to look to the boy and his pile of bedding, smile twisting back into it's usual small frown. )

( so he wouldn't be swimming in borrowed clothes, which he absolutely would if they were jon's. why is he so giant. )
( well! he sets the sheets and pillow down on the end of his bed, fluffing the pillow a little just to make sure it's nice and good for his friend. unzipping his hoodie, he's left in his white t-shirt, hoodie placed on the back of a chair before he comes over and sits down near damian there. smile on his lips, he reaches up with both hands and takes titus' face into his hands, giving him a good few scruffs and pets. )
So what's up? Dad should be back soon with pizza stuff. Krypto's probably with him or something.
( it's good to know that titus has friends here, even if damian were to disappear. he doesn't plan on it any time soon, but even before he had gone back home and lived through bruce gifting him the beast, he'd grown - attached to him. titus, alfred the cat, batcow - all new individuals he hadn't known when he had first met them here, then went home and remembered meeting them all. it's complicated, the relationship he has with all of them - just like his relationship with jon is complex.
it's something to think about. regardless, he knows that were anything to happen to him, his animals are all in good hands. it's relieving. )
Does something need to be "up" for me to come over? ( damian supposes it does - he wouldn't usually offer to come over like this. but things are different now, aren't they. ) I thought you would be happy to have me stay over.
