but he goes and finishes off the rest of his cheetos with tipping his head back and dumping the contents of the bag into his mouth, cheeto dust everywhere! with his snack all finished now, he crumples the bag between his hands then takes a moment to stare to damian. silent.
then stares a little more.

even goes so far as to squint those blue eyes of his a little and lean in closer to damian.
( the look is - disconcerting, to say the least. jon squints at him and leans in, and damian returns the favor, squinting back even if he's avoiding leaning in if only to prevent them from butting heads.
( finger to his mouth, he straight up shushes his friend, yes. quiet again, he cants his head some, completely focused and serious, then smiles a little as he drops his finger away. )

( his heart beats just a little faster, but it's hardly noticeable. enough for someone to pick up if they were listening for it, definitely not enough for anyone who isn't accustomed to hearing them to catch onto.

( ugh. he'd complain about jon grabbing onto him, but it's whatever. instead, damian looks to the hand patting his shoulder, then turns his attention back to jonathan himself, meeting the boy's eyes. )

( oops! well. too late now?? but he gets himself up with a heh and dusts his cheeto dusty fingers on the backs of his legs before he’s hopping his way over to grab the rest of his snacks. )
